Explore the world of home food now.

Diverse, flavorful, wholesome and healthy cooking is the norm in many Indian households. There is a world of options beyond aloo gobi and sang paneer, which remain largely unexplored. ‘No restaurant can ever compete with Indian home cooked food’

Indian cuisine has an added bonus for vegetarians. For them, it’s one of the friendliest cuisines around. Judicious use of spices and sauces breathes new life into the likes of potatoes, cauliflower, peas, and eggplant. A meal of hearty-but-healthy palak paneer with a side of naan will convert even the biggest meat lovers. Even South Indian food is a brilliant blend of flavors, colors, seasoning, nutritional balance, fragrance, taste, and visual appeal.

Given all the benefits of home cooking, why aren’t we all cooking for ourselves?

The most common excuse is that there’s not enough time. Other reasons are the widespread availability of food options, and the notion that convenience should always be our ultimate priority. Most households don’t have people who help you prep and clean up, this might also be a good reason why limited people cook at their homes.

Making Time to Cook At Home.

First get your stocks filled up (not to a length where you waste) but as per your requirement. Fall in love with your kitchen – A functional and cared for kitchen is a much more appealing place than one that’s grimy and uninviting.

Keep It simple and learn the basics of it – If you’re completely new to home cooking, don’t feel like you need to be a chef every night of the week. Start small and commit to cooking one or two meals at home each week. Use simple ingredients and give yourself time to get comfortable in the kitchen.

Connect to Your Heritage

Food is a cornerstone of culture. Reconnect to your family history by exploring recipes from your own cultural heritage. If you’re not sure where you come from, use this as an exciting opportunity to find out.

Do you think the food served in hotels or restaurant is healthy, though it might be tasty to the mouth?

Not all tasty food is healthy. The food industry is growing in the world today because people are getting lazy to cook in their homes, if you are looking for some delicacies then the expenses to cook at home might be comparably cheaper than a restaurant. For example, if both wife and husband are working, they feel tired to cook after their working hours, so they prefer to eat outside during the weekdays or cook something simple at their households. But when there is a need for traditional dishes one can either take time to prepare those or pay an extra buck or so to savor them at a restaurant.

It also improves family dynamics.

Children benefit greatly from the ritual of eating meals together. Family meals provide opportunities for sharing the day’s events and create a relaxing transition from busy daytime activities to slower-paced evening ones. Cooking meals at home and involving your children in food preparation is the best way to teach them healthy eating habits. Statistically, children who grow up in households where meals are eaten together perform better academically and show less tendency toward engaging in risky behaviors.
